What’s NaNoWriMo I hear you ask? Well National Novel Writing Month to give it’s full name is a bit of a mad challenge. A bunch of mad people decide that they are going to spend the month of November writing a novel.
It’s not really a novel as it’s 50,000 words, which isn’t really a fully novel, most novels tend to start at 80,000 but it’s a sizeable chuck of words no matter how you look at it.
Anyway for the second year running I’m joining those mad people and attempting to write 1,667 words on average everyday and see if I can shape into a novel.
Not that I have any notions that what I write in rapid time is going to be instantly printable but I’m looking forward to the challenge.

What this is probably going to mean is that I’m going to be down to one book review a week rather than three (there is a review planned for tomorrow of It’s A Don’s Life by Mary Beard).
But we’ll see how I get on doing both without going mad. Can you write and read at the same time?
