Personal: I’m back!

I made it to Hong Kong and back again. That was an amazing trip. The only hard part of the return trip was 13 hours on a plane.  It’s no fun no matter what films/tv shows there are on the onboard entertainment.

I did quite well though. I good my travel sickness pills, and didn’t feel that bad. I ate, which isn’t like me and I slept. One thing I found really hard to do was read.

I did finish The Séance by John Harwood on the way out and tried and failed to make any significant progress on Seeking Whom He May Devour by Fred Vargas . In fact I freaked out about how the pressurised cabin was warping the paper and shoved it back in my bag.

Speaking of books there were a couple of great book shops in Hong Kong my favourite being Page One in Time Square and if I ever had to live in HK for any period of time I’d know where to get a great selection of English-language books a great deal of them from British publishers. The only disappointment was the lack of HK-centred titles in English. There are a few but I wanted to buy something local if you see what I mean.

Anyway, much sight seeing was done, some great food had and I’m missing it like mad. Always a sign of a great place when you really can’t wait to go back.

I’m still trying to catch up with things that have happened in my absence.

Some great packages turned up whilst I was away. I’ll have to give them more space in a future post.

I hope that the promo posts from this week have been useful and that they’ve not come across as filler.

I am wondering about the best way to showcase new releases. Would anyone like to see posts were I cover a few books in the same post? And then do promo posts to spotlight only the outstanding titles?

Do you think the promo posts are useful or would you like to see less books covered but in more detail?

Any thoughts?

Right more catching up. More blogging later!
