From Dead Beat onwards, Butcher really does fall into a good stride, and the overall mythology just propels it forward. There's an overarching plot that ties in many of the books together - I don't know whether it's mentioned explicitly in Dead Beat yet - and it begins to leave the backburner around Turncoat.

Butcher is doing a good job of recharging Dresden and more depth is coming out all the time. Some parts of the subplots I'm not too keen on but that's more because i want more of some stuff and less of others. It looks like he's building up to something as this one has a bit of a power shift too...

Read the rest. :D

I'm a little way into this installment and I'm really enjoying it also. One of my friends says it's her favorite book in the series to date, though I don't think she's yet read Turn Coat.

I read the first two Dresden novels so far and liked them. I know there are more books in the series. When I read a series I'm always interested in to get information about the quality of the following books.
Therefore I read reviews like yours. Now I know that also book seven is a good one. Thank you for this.
