I told you I used to be a writer, right? Well I still am technically but the kind of writer I mean is one that sat for hours telling stories into a computer screen, playing with words and making them into poetry and generally made stuff.
I crashed and burned after my degree (I got a 2:1 in Creative and Professional Writing), which was a couple of years ago now so I’m a little rusty. How better than to clear out the cobwebs by taking part in National Novel Writing Month Month or NaNoWriMo? It’s only 50,000 words by 30 November. Eek!
Not that I regret having a break from writing. I’ve done loads of other stuff like reading, drawing and photography. And seeing as I enjoying blogging so much I’ve started another blog to show the mirror side of what I do here: How words get written in the first place.
If you’re interested in my thoughts on writing and seeing how I progress in NaNoWriMo my new blog is NEXTWORD.CO.UK.
I’ll still be posting here and hopefully the NanoWriMo won’t slow down posting too much but I am avoiding certain books that fall within the realms of what I’m writing so I don’t have too much cross contamination.
Apart from that I should have some reviews, news, features, links and other things posted this month. They might just be a little shorter than usual!
Good luck to anyone else NaNoWriMoing this month!
