The strange thing about reading is that it really is a reflection of your mood. Some books attract you because of what you fancy right then. It’s a bit like deciding between chocolate or a pie. And when you see my book p0rn post you’ll see that it’s more like the contents of a supermarket.
With any food some things you rip open and some things you save for a treat and Midnight Never Come was my little treat. I like visiting faerie realms and the world of myth so I thought I thought I’d indulge myself.
And much to my surprise it is a novel to immerse yourself in. The action takes place slowly over the course of years with plots and deceptions moving forward at a snails pace. That though doesn’t make it in anyway boring. In fact I’m looking forward to seeing what how all the little pieces fit together and who is actually deceiving who.
Set in the rein of Queen Elizabeth it resolves around the faerie Lady Lune who is sent to keep an on and perhaps alter events at Court. But her instructions come from a second Court deep below London and from Invidiana, Queen ruler faerie England.
I’m 150 pages in and so far there has been quite a few twists of turns. Lady Lune just doesn’t seem to have any luck. I’m not going to jinx it by saying so far so good but I haven’t got clue where all these breadcrumbs are taking me. I have a feeling though that more is about to be revealed.
